Municipality of Centre Hastings Lowers Flags to Half-Mast in Honour of Tumbler Ridge Tragedy
The Government of Canada has issued a national half-masting notice following the tragic events in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. The National Flag of Canada is to be flown at half-mast on federal buildings and establishments from February 12, 2026, until sunset on February 17, 2026.
The Municipality of Centre Hastings has lowered flags across the community to half-mast to honour the victims, their families, and all those affected by the mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge. As a small, rural municipality, Centre Hastings recognizes the strong bonds that exist within close-knit communities and the lasting impact such events have on residents and neighbours.

Flags will remain at half-mast until February 17, 2026.
