MADOC MAKEOVER: Community Comes Together for Small Town, Big Respect Trash Bash
CENTRE HASTINGS, ONTARIO – On Saturday, September 26, 2026, community pride was on full display as the Madoc 385 Royal Canadian Army Cadets, the Madoc Business Improvement Team (BIT), and local volunteers joined forces for the Madoc Makeover: Trash Bash.
Volunteers spent the day cleaning up streets, parks, trails, public spaces, and business areas throughout the community. Cadets could be seen working across Centre Hastings, collecting litter and helping improve the appearance of many well-used community spaces.
The event showcased the power of community involvement and highlighted what can be accomplished when residents, organizations, and youth work together toward a common goal. The efforts of everyone involved helped make a noticeable impact, creating cleaner and more welcoming spaces for residents and visitors alike.
The Trash Bash was well suited to the values of the Small Town, Big Respect campaign, demonstrating community pride, respect for shared spaces, environmental stewardship, and a commitment to making a positive difference. Through their actions, participants exemplified the spirit of working together to build a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming community for everyone.
The initiative also served as a reminder that even small acts of volunteerism can have a meaningful impact when a community comes together.
