Fire Prevention Week 2026: Cheap Charger? Don't Chance It.
October 4-10, 2026 | Safe Charging Is a Superpower™
The Municipality of Centre Hastings and the Centre Hastings Fire Department are proud to once again partner with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA®) to recognize Fire Prevention Week, taking place October 4-10, 2026.
This year's theme, "Charge into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower!", highlights the importance of using and charging batteries and electronic devices safely at home, at work, and on the go.
Cheap Charger? Don't Chance It.
Using the wrong charger can damage your battery and increase the risk of overheating or fire. For the safest charging experience, always use the charger and cord that came with your device, or a replacement approved by the manufacturer.
Small choices can make a big difference when it comes to protecting your home and family. Stay tuned throughout Fire Prevention Week for more fire safety tips from the Centre Hastings Fire Department.
