Centre Hastings Expands Emergency Response Capabilities with New Fire Truck

The Municipality of Centre Hastings has recently acquired a new fire and emergency response vehicle to better serve our rural community. Members of Council had the opportunity to view the new equipment first-hand during the February 4, 2026, Regular Council Meeting.

The 2006 GMC C5E042 Crew Cab fire truck was purchased from the Brighton Fire Department in Brighton, Ontario. This four-door vehicle, powered by a 6.6L V8 turbo diesel engine, will be a fantastic asset for rural settings, including trails and cottage roads, where larger trucks can face challenges accessing.

With its increased versatility and operational capability, the new truck will be a significant contribution to emergency response efforts, allowing for more efficient and flexible use across a wide range of fire and emergency situations. Council hopes this addition will further strengthen emergency services and better equip Centre Hastings firefighters to respond to whatever emergencies come their way.
