Centre Hastings Council Launches 2025 Poppy Campaign with Madoc Legion

On October 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., members of Madoc Legion – Branch 363 visited the Centre Hastings Municipal Office to officially kick off the annual Poppy Campaign. The event marked the start of a community-wide effort to honour veterans and support those in need through the Legion’s Poppy Fund.

Bruce Whiteman, President, and Tim Clark, Bar Chairman of Madoc Legion – Branch 363, had the honour of pinning a poppy on Mayor Deline, symbolizing remembrance and respect for those who served in the Canadian Armed Forces. Members of Centre Hastings Council were also present and participated in raising the Lest We Forget flag alongside Mayor Deline. The flag will remain flying at the Municipal Office until Remembrance Day on November 11, serving as a visible reminder of the sacrifices made by veterans and active service members.

The Poppy Campaign is an important annual initiative that not only pays tribute to Canada’s veterans but also provides vital support to veterans and their families in our community. Residents are encouraged to participate by wearing a poppy and supporting local Legion efforts throughout the campaign.
