Burn Ban Lifted with Restrictions in Centre Hastings (July 4th,2025)

NOTICE: Burn Ban Lifted with Restrictions

The Municipality of Centre Hastings is lifting the open-air burn ban, effective today. However, burning restrictions remain in effect.

Between April 1 and October 31, no outdoor burning of grass, rubbish, garbage, wood, or other combustible materials is permitted between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., unless one of the following conditions is met:

  1. The fire is used exclusively for cooking or warmth, or

  2. The fire is no larger than 1 metre by 1 metre and is attended at all times by someone 19 years of age or older, or

  3. The fire is confined within a metal container and covered by a metal mesh or screen with openings smaller than ¼ inch to prevent the escape of coals and cinders.

🚫 Note: The burning of hazardous and/or toxic materials is prohibited at all times.
